Recently, I’ve found myself in a blogging hole. I seem to go through cycles – a few months good, a few months not knowing where to turn or what to do next. Recently, as uni is ending, I’ve found myself without any ideas, unless someone asks me to write them for them. I’m in need of some new ideas to indulge my creativity be it in beauty, lifestyle, or the purpose of this post; fashion.
I’ve wanted to branch into fashion blogging for a while – I love clothes. And even though my Instagram has struggled on the theme front for a while, my posts which feature my whole body usually get a lot more engagement. And it’s usually along lines of “I love that outfit!”. So hey, why not?
With Indigo contacted me recently to invite me to their pop-up shop, which they held in the Trinity Centre, Aberdeen, on the 20th of April 2018. They’re a new brand, created by best friends Aimée Keatch and Naomi D’Cruz. Both girls have a strong fashion background, graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone in Dundee with degrees in textiles. Their brand features bold graphic t shirts, amazingly designed graphic prints, greeting cards and notebooks, and bright, bold, statement jewellery that is perfect for making an impact.
The little pop-up shop With Indigo held was incredible, with a great selection of their works on display. The brains behind the brand, Aimée and Naomi themselves, are absolutely lovely, and you can tell their whole hearts have been poured into getting their brand just right! They let me take a few photos, gave me a quick run down of the brand, and then let me have a browse. I swore I wasn’t going to spend much money, but I couldn’t help myself! I ended up leaving with a handmade graphic tee, and 2 pairs of earrings.
I get some serious 80’s vibes from this look!
The tee, as I said, is handmade. I love this, because the tee will never not be unique! It’s super comfortable and just slightly out of the ordinary. In the picture above, I’m also wearing a pair of Leather Earrings – these are hand cut and the perfect weight for such a statement piece! No feeling like you’re dragging weights around by your ears. As someone that doesn’t wear earrings all that often, I’m always looking for an excuse to get these out!
I also bought some cube acrylic earrings. All of the acrylic earrings are laser cut, and come in bright colours and cool shapes. If you need some serious statement jewellery, these are what you need! Everything is such high quality, and at just £5 each, you can’t go wrong!
With Indigo have big plans, and I’m so excited to see where they go. Starting as a platform to showcase their own designs, Aimée and Naomi plan to use their brand as a platform for new graduates entering the world of fashion design. And as a soon-to-be graduate who’s struggled to find an appropriate job in an industry that’s nowhere near as difficult to enter as fashion, I can’t get behind this enough! I’m following them closely now to see when new designs hit their shelves, and to get a good look at what could be the next big thing in fashion design.
If you get behind just one new, small brand this year, make it With Indigo!
