Happy 2019 – My Plans

Happy 2019 – My Plans

Going into 2019, I’m honestly not sure if I’ll continue blogging. I’m going to try to scatter in the odd update, but with a lot to do to reach my career goals, I doubt I’ll have time to go back to the three posts a week schedule I originally set myself. This blog used to be an outlet for such joy. But now, it just feels like a chore.

What It’s Really Like – Not Making Close Friends at University

What It’s Really Like – Not Making …

In life, and particularly when you’re young, the focus seems to be on having a big group of friends and seeming “cool”. I’ve had people shocked to the core when I admitted I sat in lectures alone, claiming a lecture wasn’t worth going to if you weren’t there to socialise. But a lecture is always worth going to. After all, they exist as a teaching tool. University is primarily about getting a degree. And if you make friends, great! But if not, that doesn’t mean you’ve failed. No matter how hard society pushes on you that a social life is more important than anything else at that point.

Summer Plans and Embracing my Post University Freedom

Summer Plans and Embracing my Post University …

This summer will be busy, including preparations to move to a whole new place for a whole new degree. So I thought it would be a good reminder to myself to write down everything I have planned, for a little springboard of excitement, and a little preview of incoming content to my blog in the next couple of months.

Annie Mo’s – Blogger Event and Interior Design Goals

Annie Mo’s – Blogger Event and Interior …

I’m pretty certain, no matter where in the world you are, you have a shop in your head that you always wish you could go into, but never have an occasion to. In Aberdeen, mine is Annie Mo’s. Annie Mo’s is an interior design, home, and furniture shop, that is every bloggers dream. And recently, they held an amazing bloggers night for us all to come and have a look. Finally! An excuse to go inside!

Let’s Talk: Fake Blogging Engagement

Let’s Talk: Fake Blogging Engagement

There’s something going on in the blogosphere that I know isn’t new. But what with Instagram’s algorithm, YouTube altering it’s partner program to the detriment of smaller influencers, and a lot of negativity surrounding working with brands right now, drawing people to your blog has become more important that ever. And some tactics have been dragged to the forefront. Now, whilst some tactics might be described by some as ‘Shady’, I’m gonna go down a different route and put a very opinionated spin on them. These tactics are, quite frankly, stupid. And whilst I debated trying to put a more positive spin on this, I have something to say. Sometimes, after all, honesty is the best policy.

Say My Name with Ineffabless Jewellery

Say My Name with Ineffabless Jewellery

Ineffabless is a London based Jewellery brand that specializes in personalized jewellery. Even before I got sick of being called the wrong name, I have obsessed over name necklaces. When done right, they are super cool. I’ve searched for the perfect one for so long, but have found that many places that offer them just don’t have them quite right. I wanted something simple, yet to the point. I don’t need my name blown up to huge proportions, in neon yellow, blazoned across my chest. I need something I can wear with everything, and of course, something pretty yet eye catching. And I think with their huge selection, honestly one of the biggest I’ve ever seen, Ineffabless fits the bill perfectly.

Valentines Day is Just Another Day…

Valentines Day is Just Another Day…

I’m not saying I hate Valentines day. But a lot of the stuff that goes with it is just irritating. The idea that men have to send their girlfriends huge bouquets of roses that wilt before they get delivered and cost stupid amounts of money. The cuddly toys that come onto the Clinton’s shelves once a year and have huge red hearts sewn to them in such awkward ways that you can’t even cuddle them. Yet another occasion that I need to buy someone a present simply for putting up with the fact I leave all my clothes in a pile on the floor. Making a restaurant booking months in advance only to be rushed through a set menu because all of the tables need to be reused.

Getting a Pet Whilst a Student – Pros and Cons

Getting a Pet Whilst a Student – Pros …

Think about it; this is your first real chance at independent living! You’ve chosen your housemates. You’ll choose how to decorate your own room. You’ll pay bills. You’ll almost be a proper adult. And that pretty much means getting that dog or cat your parents never let you have, right?
