The beginning of the June has spun around quicker than I care for to be honest! Where is this year going and what do you mean I’m going to be 25 next month?!?! Whilst I’m busy simply trying to figure out time travel so I can be 21 again, my monthly subscription boxes arrived! This month’s summery Birchbox wasn’t a box at all, but a lovely little Birchbag instead!
The bag colour was chosen back in May and the choice was between this yellow and purple beauty or an equally gorgeous green and purple version. After around twenty minutes of staring at them, I opted for the yellow one.
The theme for this month is Daytripping, and is filled with travel sized goodies perfect for stashing in the car or your handbag when you go travelling, with emphasis on exploring your own back yard. I love home based travels, and the bag is perfect compliment to this. The Birchbag itself is solid, and will make a perfect travel cosmetics bag!
Onto the products! I’ve tested each one this week, so I’ll be giving you full reviews!
MeechNMia Brow Liner
This brow pencil is full-sized and comes in every Birchbox this month, in either colour #021 (light brown), #022 (medium brown) or #023 (black). I got colour #022 and am pretty impressed; it’s a perfect match!
I really like this pencil – I don’t use them on my brows enough. This is the perfect quick fix for when you don’t have time to do your brows properly. I team it with some Benefit Gimme Brow and I’m good to go!
Arrow ENHANCE Waterproof Eyeliner n Bright Now
This cute little nude coloured eyeliner intrigued me when I first opened it up! I’d never used a pink eyeliner before. Birchbox recommends you put this in the corner of your eyes and on your water line to brighten your eyes and make them look more ‘wide-awake’. This eyeliner is really pigmented and glides on so smoothly! It’s a pencil, so the sample will last me a while, but I’d be tempted to buy it again once I’m done!
Cowshed Cow Pat Hand Cream
Despite the claim by Birchbox that this hand cream is ‘Cheekily-Named’, I find the name a little off-putting… Just me?
The scent of this is a grower, with fragrances such as coriander, grapefruit and butter orange mingling. But after a few uses, I started to really like it (but my boyfriend disagrees!). It’s a little greasy, but this soon absorbs. This is also my second full-sized product this month, which is fantastic because Birchbox usually one give one!
Scrub Love Coconut Oil Scrub in Coconut Mango
Those of you that aren’t regular readers and don’t follow me on social media (where have you been?!?!?) won’t know my love for Scrub Love! They’ve put samples in huge amounts of subscription boxes the past couple of months; Birchbox is actually pretty behind! I already have a full sized version of this beautiful scrub, which is messy, smells amazing, and has a scrubbing power like no other!
If that’s not enough, Scrub Love as a company are amazing and put customer service above everything else (expect making great products!). Check out my full review of this scrub (and one more from their range) here.
amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo
I was given an amika mask in my complimentary July 2016 Birchbox, which I received when I signed up in January, and I’ve not used the brand since. The bright and colourful packaging gives a good insight into these fun scented products! This dry shampoo has a lovely subtle scent, and doesn’t go on powdery like other dry shampoos. I love it! I’ll be buying this in full sized when this sample runs out!
So, as you can see, this month’s Birchbox/Birchbag absolutely killed it! The products are amazing, full of summery scents and travel essentials. There’s also a good range of stuff this month – 2 makeup products, 2 skincare products and one hair care product. I’m really impressed!
The back of the leaflet also hints at the July box, and there’s a Benefit treat in store for everyone. Can you choose between Cha Cha Tint and Go Go Tint? I can’t… Hey Birchbox, can I have both?
Did you love this month’s Birchbox as much as I did? Let me know in the comments!
