Let’s be honest girls – we can have all the body confidence in the world and they’ll always be something you’d want to change. I don’t much buy into the beauty industry’s tripe of needing to be perfect. I have no problems with my appearance – it is what it is. That doesn’t mean I won’t give anything a go if it reduces the cellulite on the backs of my thighs. And if it’s eco-friendly and natural, then bonus!
I recently was very kindly sent a sample pack from e’lifexir of it’s full range of body care products. There are seven products in the pack in total, and each one promises to carve out and define a specific part of your body. Now, I should point out this isn’t a full review, but more of a first impressions type thing, simply because I only got five sachets of each product. Not really enough to figure out if the products work long term. But, I have enjoyed using them on all 3 occasions I’ve saved to do so, so I’ll go over it here.
The first thing I’ll talk about is the common aspects of them all. First up, each one is eco-certified and contain 99.6% of natural origin ingredients, about 5% of which are sourced from organic farmers. So no dodgy chemicals. All good! And I’ll give them all this – they smell amazing! Very herbal, natural, and fresh. I will add that all of the creams and gels are very thick and emulsifying – they take a lot of effort to rub in. But once rubbed in, they are non-greasy, and dry pretty much straight away, so you can get dressed without needing to faff about!
The products I was sent to test were the Actidern Revitilising Leg Gel, the Anti Stretch Marks Repairing and Preventing Cream, the BodyLift Anti-Cellulite and Lifting Cream, the Fitness Body Contouring Gel, the Flat Tummy Reducing and Firming Cream, the Push-Up Breast Toning and Firming Cream, and the Push-Up Buttocks Sculpting Gel. All products retail for £15.99 and can be purchased at Holland and Barret.
This gel contains active ingredients of black elder, rutin, olive oil and acticire, which all act to revive tired legs, reduce redness, and moisturise. It also contains antioxidising natural cherry, cranberry and grape water. This is my favourite of the products, and was the perfect post-hike treat after our long walks on Skye. I’m definitely planning on buying this in the full size – it’s the only one I really feel the effects of!
Containing centella asiatica leaf extract, scotch thistle extract, and antioxidising natural cherry, cranberry and grape water, this cream aims to increase the firmness and elasticity of the skin. I do think this would make a great everyday product, but after using all the others, the thought of rubbing this in feels like overkill. I’m still yet to use it! Perhaps I will when the others all run out…
Carnivorous sundews leaf and dragon eye extract may sound dramatic, but they work with black elder extract and cherry, cranberry and orange water to smooth skin, reduce the appearance of cellulite, improve skin texture, protect the skin, and boost microcirculation and decongestion of skin tissue. I can’t tell you if it actually works. But it does feel good to rub in!
The perfect accompaniment to your post-gym routine, this gel is packed with caffeine, dragon eye extract and black elder extract to help tighten the skin, reduce fatty deposits, and improve microcirculation and decongestion of skin tissue. Meanwhile lemon, cranberry and orange water boost collagen production. I’ve not used this as much as I could, but it’s a dream to rub in and leaves my skin glowing. I love using it on my arms!
Utilising caffeine, centella asiatica leaf extract and lemon, cherry and orange water, this cream gives a vitamin C boost to the skin whilst tightening, sculpting and firming your skin. Olive oil also helps to reduce signs of aging.
With a solid set of 32B’s on my chest, I really don’t have much use for this cream. However, it comes packed with oleoresin, which is extracted from the Indian tree guggul and has a re-densifying action which apparently adds volume to the skin. Along with that, scotch thistle extract reduces the appearance of stretch marks whilst moisturizing and improving the elasticity of the skin, and natural cherry, orange and grape water, with centella asiatica leaf extract, improve firmness and tone of skin. Even my tiny mounds appreciate the little extra care!
Now onto the good stuff! My bum is my most hated body part (and most loved by my boyfriend… Strange boy!) so I apply this whenever I can! It contains mate and stevia leaf extract which help to smooth skin, scotch thistle extract to help improve cell renewal and protect collagen, and black elder extract to improve microcirculation and decongestion of skin tissue. Meanwhile, cherry, cranberry and orange water provide antioxidants and help to protect your skin.
So, do you need every product in this range? No. But if you’re looking for eco-friendly body care, hopefully this little guide will help you pick out which ones are for you. My favourites are the Revitilising Leg Gel, the Body Contouring Gel, and the Push-Up Buttocks Sculpting Gel, and I’ll probably be buying those in full size once I run out of samples!
Even if you don’t think products like this work, the natural feel and overwhelming benefits of these products make them a win for me! Who cares if you have cellulite anyway, when you can smell like a herbal-scented spa!
