Primark Makeup Sponges – Does Budget Add Up?

Primark Makeup Sponges – Does Budget Add Up?

PS beauty by Primark has been making big waves in the beauty community, but as I’m trying to cut back on buying (and by extension wasting) new makeup, I’ve yet to try any of it. Whilst I do trust the reviews of my fellow micro-bloggers, I wasn’t holding up all my hopes on a couple of cheap sponges. But still, I wanted to give them a fair try.

Exploring My Skinny Tan Collection

Exploring My Skinny Tan Collection

I’m going to start off with “Why Skinny Tan?”. Yes, there are much more renowned fake tanning brands out there. But I always end up picking Skinny Tan. I pointed out in my first review of the brand, back when all I owned was the Express Mousse, that I loved the colour, scent and relatively streak free finish of that Skinny Tan Product. As I tried other brands, nothing looked as good or was as easy to apply as Skinny Tan. Eventually, I used up or threw out my other products, leaving only that one. And eventually, I expanded my collection – Skinny Tan by that point was by far my favourite fake tan brand!

Review: Skinny Tan Body Glow Aftersun and Instant Tanner

Review: Skinny Tan Body Glow Aftersun and …

The Aftersun is on the cheaper end of Skinny Tan’s product range, retailing at just £9.99. It promises to smooth and soften skin after sun exposure, whilst adding a boost of Skinny Tan Instant Tanner, which washes off. It contains the usual Skinny Tan formula of Guarana berries to tone skin, and added aloe vera to moisturize and hydrate after a day in the sun. The point of the product is to re-hydrate your skin after sun exposure, whilst adding a hint of tan to boost your natural colouring after sunbathing all day. And, on paper, it does that pretty well.

Summer to Fall Inspired Makeup Look

Summer to Fall Inspired Makeup Look

Today, I’m focusing on the change in weather. The heatwave is definitely over after three months of scorching heat, and with August now at the midway mark, the autumn memes are in full force on social media. Ditching my shorts for jeans and finally digging my leggings out to wear with dresses again, it’s safe to say the seasonal transition is here. I’m not quite in thick jumpers yet, and the Pumpkin Spiced Latte’s haven’t arrived in Starbucks, but the days are getting shorter and the temperatures are noticeably lower. In tune with this, I’m over the “barely there” makeup feels of summer, and ready to get some colours into my look.

Review: MAC Fix+ Goldlight

Review: MAC Fix+ Goldlight

I’d always wanted to try the MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ setting spray. Sylvia Gani is one of my favourite YouTubers, and she swears by the stuff. MAC is one of the top tier makeup brands I use, although I mostly own lipsticks and a couple of eyeliners from them. The quality is always next to none. So when I found myself with a handy discount code, I went in for a bit of a splurge and knew the one product I’d have to pick up was some Fix+ setting spray. But as it turns out, there’s a whole new range of Fix+ sprays!

Finding a Love for Sheet Masks

Finding a Love for Sheet Masks

Most sheet masks follow the same pattern; remove the mask from the packet, stick it on your face, let it sit for 15-20 minutes, take off. Throw away the sheet, and then rub in the excess product. Ta-da; done! Most of them provide a quick boost of ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, vitamins, and targeted ingredients to suit the purpose of the mask. Whilst most sheet masks aim to moisturise, a few brighten, deep clean, or purify the skin.

Eco-Friendly Body Care with e’lifexir

Eco-Friendly Body Care with e’lifexir

I recently was very kindly sent a sample pack from e’lifexir of it’s full range of body care products. There are seven products in the pack in total, and each one promises to carve out and define a specific part of your body. Now, I should point out this isn’t a full review, but more of a first impressions type thing, simply because I only got five sachets of each product. Not really enough to figure out if the products work long term. But, I have enjoyed using them on all 3 occasions I’ve saved to do so, so I’ll go over it here.

Review: The Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Peel

Review: The Body Shop Drops of Youth …

As I rubbed the peel into the back of my hand, and excuse the visual, clumps of skin genuinely began to detach and form. Once wiped away, the back of my hand that had just been peeled was smooth, soft, and even looked well moisturised, whilst the other hand suddenly seemed to have noticeable patches of dry skin due to the difference.

Review – Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation

Review – Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation

But when my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Pencil ran out, and I didn’t have the money to order a new one, I swallowed my pride and went in search of a good drugstore dupe. A quick online search led me to Maybelline for a similar pencil. And whilst there, I decided to try some other things that had a good reputation, before being drawn to the foundations. Having done most of my makeup shopping online, I was pretty impressed to see a display that talked through each foundation type and told me which one was for each skin type. After a little swatching, I settled on the Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid.

Review: Organic Shop Haircare

Review: Organic Shop Haircare

My hair is poker straight, often gets greasy really quickly, and is now at the length where it constantly feels in the way. I need a shampoo that’s light, non oily, and sulphate free is always a bonus. So when Organic Shop sent me some products to try I jumped!
